Statement of Faith

This statement outlines the core beliefs that shape the teaching, discipleship, and life of Holy Fire Disciples.

Our Core Beliefs

The Nature of God

We believe in one God, revealed eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, perfect in love, unity, and purpose. God has always existed in relationship, and humanity was created to live in that same union, belonging, and shared life with Him.

Humanity and the Fall

We believe humanity was created in the image and likeness of God, formed in intimacy and for intimacy, trust, and communion. Humanity did not lose union with God through the fall, but lost awareness of that union through fear, shame, and distorted perception. Separation was experienced by humanity, not enacted by God. God never withdrew Himself; humanity hid.

The Promise and Purpose of the Law

We believe the Law was given not to restore union, but to reveal humanity’s inability to live from trust and to expose the limitations of self-reliance. The Law served as a guardian, pointing beyond itself to the promise of restoration that could only be fulfilled by God. It revealed the problem but could not heal it, preparing humanity for grace rather than replacing it.

Jesus Christ and the Finished Work

We believe Jesus Christ is the full revelation of God and the true image of humanity. In His life, death, resurrection, and ascension, Jesus accomplished what humanity could not. Through the cross, God dealt with sin, fear, and death once and for all, not to appease Himself, but to heal humanity and restore trust. The resurrection established a new creation reality in Christ, securing reconciliation, union, and life for all.

Salvation, New Creation, and Awakening

We believe salvation is an objective reality accomplished fully in Christ, not something humanity earns or sustains. Being “born again” is the awakening of sight and trust to this already-established reality, not the creation of worth or belonging. Faith does not create truth; it opens the heart to live from what is already true. Salvation brings humanity home, while awakening allows participation, rest, and transformation.

The Holy Spirit and Transformation

We believe the Holy Spirit is the gift of God’s own life within us, bearing witness to our identity as sons and daughters. The Spirit leads us into truth, healing, and freedom, not through fear or coercion, but through love and revelation. Transformation flows naturally from trust, not effort, as the Spirit forms Christ in us over time.

The Kingdom of God

We believe the Kingdom of God is not primarily a future destination, but God’s present reign revealed through Jesus. The Kingdom is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit, experienced now and consummated fully at Christ’s return. Participation in the Kingdom grows through trust and rest, not performance, and is expressed through love, humility, and freedom.

Judgment, Restoration, and Hope

We believe biblical judgment is revelatory and restorative in nature, exposing truth rather than inflicting retribution. God’s judgments serve to uncover what is real, heal what is broken, and bring creation into alignment with love. We hold hope in the restoration of all things, trusting the Father’s goodness, wisdom, and patience, while honoring the seriousness of human response and the reality of consequence.

The Life of Love

We believe love is the highest revelation of God and the truest measure of spiritual life. Without love, spiritual activity becomes noise rather than witness. Love is patient, kind, and secure, reflecting the very heart of the Father. The fruit of love is the evidence of life in the Spirit and the mark by which the world recognizes Christ.

Covenant, Response, and Participation

We believe God’s work in Christ is complete and freely given, yet love invites response rather than coercion. Covenant is entered through trust, where hearts awaken to what has already been accomplished in Christ. Participation in the life of God grows through surrender, rest, and relationship, not effort or obligation, as we learn to live from union rather than self-reliance.

Genesis 1:26-27

Genesis 1:26-27

26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

Genesis 3:8-10

Genesis 3:8-10

8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”

10 He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”

Romans 8:38-39

Romans 8:38-39

38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Galatians 3:19-24

Galatians 3:19-24

19 Why, then, was the law given at all? It was added because of transgressions until the Seed to whom the promise referred had come. The law was given through angels and entrusted to a mediator. 20 A mediator, however, implies more than one party; but God is one.

21 Is the law, therefore, opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law. 22 But Scripture has locked up everything under the control of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.
23 Before the coming of this faith,[a] we were held in custody under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed. 24 So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith.

Romans 3:20

Romans 3:20

20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.

Hebrews 10:1

1 John 4:8

38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Matthew 28:19

Matthew 28:19

19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

John 17:21-23

John 17:21-23

21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— 23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

1 John 4:8

1 John 4:8

8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

Colossians 1:15–20

Colossians 1:15–20

15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

Hebrews 10:10–14

Hebrews 10:10–14

10 And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

11 Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, 13 and since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool. 14 For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

2 Corinthians 5:19

2 Corinthians 5:19

19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

2 Corinthians 5:17–19

2 Corinthians 5:17–19

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

Ephesians 2:8–9

Ephesians 2:8–9

8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

John 3:3

John 3:3

3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.

Colossians 3:1–3

Colossians 3:1–3

1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

Romans 8:15–16

Romans 8:15–16

15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.[a] And by him we cry, “Abba,[b] Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

John 16:13

John 16:13

13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.

2 Corinthians 3:17–18

2 Corinthians 3:17–18

17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate[a] the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Luke 17:20–21

Luke 17:20–21

20 Once, on being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, 21 nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst.

Romans 14:17

Romans 14:17

17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,

Hebrews 4:9–11

Hebrews 4:9–11

9 There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; 10 for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works,[a] just as God did from his. 11 Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.

John 3:19–21

John 3:19–21

19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

1 Corinthians 3:13–15

1 Corinthians 3:13–15

13 their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. 14 If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. 15 If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames.

Acts 3:21

Acts 3:21

21 Heaven must receive him until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets.

1 Corinthians 13:1–13

1 Corinthians 13:1–13

1 If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

John 13:34–35

John 13:34–35

34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Galatians 5:22–23

Galatians 5:22–23

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Hebrews 10:14

Hebrews 10:14

14 For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

Revelation 3:20

Revelation 3:20

20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

John 15:4–5

John 15:4–5

4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

A Living Journey of Faith

This statement reflects our current understanding and the convictions that presently shape our teaching and practice. We hold these beliefs with humility, recognising that discipleship is a lived journey and that growth, learning, and deeper revelation continue over time.

We remain attentive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and open to refinement as the Lord teaches, reveals, and forms us more fully in truth and love.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."
