The Power of Agreement: How Deliverance Culture Keeps You Fighting a Powerless Enemy

Could it be that in trying to get free, we’re actually giving the enemy more power than he even has?
I’ve seen it over and over again — people stuck in cycles of deliverance, chasing the next breakthrough, but never truly stepping into freedom. So much striving and doing. So much burden on the individual when we shouldn't carry any burden. The problem isn’t always the enemy — it’s what we believe. Because here’s the truth many overlook: The enemy has no real power unless we give it to him. His only access comes through the power of agreement.
The Enemy's Only Strategy: Agreement
When Jesus declared “It is finished” on the cross, He wasn’t speaking in theory — He was declaring a complete victory. Colossians 2:15 tells us Jesus disarmed the powers of darkness. The enemy was stripped of authority. Yet so many live as though they’re still in bondage. Why?
Because agreement is everything.
The Bible says, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7). What we believe, deep down, becomes our reality — even if that reality is rooted in a lie. When we agree with fear, oppression, or the illusion that the enemy still has power, we surrender ground that was never his to claim. But when we agree with truth — with the finished work of Jesus — the enemy has no foothold, they have no valid legal claims.
When Deliverance Ministry Magnifies a Powerless Foe
Deliverance ministry, when done outside the context of identity, can accidentally keep people bound. Endless sessions, constant searching for hidden demons, searching for curses, living in fear of the next attack, and the added burden of trying to stay free and renew your mind — it all reinforces the lie that darkness is strong or has too much power, and freedom is fragile.
But real deliverance doesn’t come from chasing darkness — it comes from agreeing with Jesus' Truth. It comes from sonship.
Sonship Heals All Wounds — The Cross Delivers All Bondages
You weren’t created to live in fear of the enemy. You also weren't created to carry burdens. You were created to live as a son or daughter of God, fully confident in His finished work. His burden is light, His yoke is easy. He wants to carry every burden for us.
Sonship heals all wounds — because when you know who you are, the wounds that fueled insecurity, fear, and striving lose their grip.
The cross delivers all bondages — because Jesus didn’t leave anything unfinished. Freedom isn’t something we achieve; it’s something we receive by agreement. You can literally step into that Truth and be free, because it's already done!
It’s not about battling demons — it’s about believing what Jesus already accomplished. There's no more warfare, no more battling, no more fighting - the battle is the Lord's and it's already done! You can rest in Jesus!
When you walk in sonship, you stop empowering a powerless enemy and start living in the authority that was yours all along.
What Are You Agreeing With?
You can’t walk in freedom while thinking like a bound person. You can’t live as a son or daughter while believing you’re still under the enemy’s control or that the enemy has any power over you. The enemy can't do anything unless you agree they can!
The enemy’s only strategy is to keep you agreeing with lies. But the moment you align with truth — your identity, your authority, your freedom — the enemy has nothing left to stand on.
Stop Empowering a Defeated Enemy
Deliverance has its place, but freedom is sustained by agreement with truth — not by fixating on darkness.
It’s time to stop empowering a defeated enemy and start living as the son or daughter Jesus redeemed you to be.
Sonship heals all wounds. The cross delivers all bondages.
You don’t have to strive for freedom — Jesus already finished the work. Your only role is to believe it… and walk in it, and enjoy your relationship with Jesus.
Sonship is where the true, real, lasting freedom is.
Much love and blessings,
